The World novelty GB Penhod Blades
Description of GB Penhold Table Tennis blade family

In the table tennis sport two major blade categories used:

- „European” grip models

- „Penhold” models

The penhold models are popular and successful mostly in Asia (China, Japan, Korea, etc.). In Hungary we have created the new versions of penhold blades, what are enjoying the advantages of GB Grip blades (just to remember: the GB Grip European grip GB Science blades already prooved their advantages).

Short description of GB Penhold blades:

Playing with penhold rackets the racket holding fingers have double task. One of them is the directing task via the sensitive nerve ends of the fingertips; the other is transferring the power to the racket when hitting the ball.

By creating GB Penhold blades our aim was to separate this double task.

With penhold rackets there is possibility with hand-fitting grip to convey more power to the rackets (as less power can be transferred by fingers than by full hand). It results in higher ballspeed at finishing hits, bigger momentum can be given to the ball and can increase spinning capabilities, too. By using GB Penhold grip the fingers have only one task: fine directing the ball.

We have created 9 different versions of GP Penhold blades. Our aim is to widen the selection of table tennis rackets and achieve favourable results in competitive sports using the most suitable GB Penhold blades.

All GB penhold models are suitable both for hobby and medium level competition playing. 2-3 model versions wil be also suitable for high level competitive playing.

Some of the new GB penhold blades can be used by conventional penhold play technique while some other types require completely new play technique. It depends on the angles of GB Grip handles in relation to the flat blade side (acute, right or obtuse angle).
